In this quick interview from the AUA Meeting, Charlottesville, VA-based ContraVac, discusses SpermCheck Vasectomy.
Using only a few drop of semen, the diagnostic can confirm post-vasectomy sterility from home. The vasectomy failure and recanalization rate is approximately 0.4% (1 in 238). SpermCheck Vasectomy was approved by the FDA in March 2008.
CotraVac is also developing SpermCheck Fertility, to analyze a man’s sperm count. The test provides a status of fertile, sub-fertile, or infertile. Once approved, this product could be a blockbuster.
