Description |
| Kereos produces molecular imaging agents with improved specificity and unique capabilities that enable the earlier and more definitive diagnosis of cancer and cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, Kereos' targeted therapeutics recognize definitive disease biomarkers to precisely deliver powerful payloads of proven chemotherapeutics, thereby making them potentially more effective and less toxic in the treatment of disease.
| Products / Services |
Kereos' product pipeline includes: the KI-0001, an MRI agent used for the detection of tumors, which enables their identification practically back to the point where they first become tumors; the KI-002, an MRI agent used for the detection of cardiovascular disease that can identify those at high risk and therefore lead to more effective treatments and improved prognoses; and the KI-100x, a targeted chemotherapeutic for solid tumors, which has been shown to significantly inhibit tumor growth in preliminary studies.
| Technology / Differentiation |
| Kereos' product development addresses two major necessities associated with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and cardiovascular disease, namely the capability for early detection and the targeted distribution of therapeutic agents to minimize toxicity and side effects. Its proprietary agents in these realms uniquely facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases.
| Market / Customers |
In the U.S., more than 1.7 million people are diagnosed with cancer annually. More than $60 billion is spent on treatment.
| Status |
| With lead candidates projected to enter the clinic, Kereos is at the forefront in bringing targeted therapy and molecular imaging to patients, independently and with its partners. In September 2006, the company announced the publication of a preclinical study in "Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology" demonstrating the ability of Kereos' technology to detect and treat atherosclerotic plaques. |
