Meridian Bioscience, Inc. is a fully integrated life science company engaged in the development, manufacture, sale and distribution of diagnostic test kits, primarily for certain respiratory, gastrointestinal, viral and parasitic infectious diseases. The Company also manufactures and distributes bulk antigens and reagents used by researchers and other diagnostic manufacturers. In addition, it operates in the contract manufacture of proteins and other biologicals for use by biopharmaceutical and biotechnology companies engaged in research for new drugs and vaccines. As a result of changes that occurred in February 2003 in the organization and management of Meridian's businesses, effective with the quarter beginning January 1, 2003, Meridian changed its operating segments to US Diagnostics, European Diagnostics and Life Science.
