Description |
| Muve, Inc. was formed in 2007 in cooperation with the Mayo Clinic to commercialize obesity prevention solutions and to eventually reverse the worldwide and domestic obesity epidemics. Muve's mission is to deliver scalable, broadly available activity-based weight management solutions based on Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis (NEAT). |
 |
| Products / Services |
The Gruve Solution, a patent-pending weight management system, tracks energy expenditure from all modes of movement made by users in a single day (NEAT). Using the wearable Gruve device in tandem with the Gruve Online software, individuals can accurately track their personal caloric burn and determine the amount of activity needed to exceed their caloric intake and, consequently, to lose weight. The company's Muvologists provide support and assistance throughout the entire Gruve program, from initial assessment to completion. They have received prior training in the areas of activity-based weight loss, exercise, physiology, nutrition, and psychology; Muve builds upon their expertise with training in Kinetic Ergonomics, intended to facilitate their analysis of work environments, suggestions for creating active workplaces, and their implementation of healthy lifestyle modifications for their clients.

| Technology / Differentiation |
| The Gruve device uses an omnidirectional accelerometer to measure activity intensity and duration, and can be easily synchronized with the Gruve Online software. Gruve Online stores personal health statistics and employs the 'Get to Green' color coding system to track progress toward daily caloric burn goals. With a secured user ID and password, one's personal network may be accessed from any Web connection. |

| Market / Customers |
Over the past twenty years, obesity rates have increased by more than 300%.; more than 125 million people in the U.S. and 1.5 billion worldwide are currently obese or overweight. Obesity is a major financial burden for companies, schools, governments and households, with annual costs that exceed $100 billion in the U.S. and $1 trillion worldwide. Meanwhile, the total U.S. weight loss market was worth an estimated $58.7 billion in 2007, with an annual growth rate of 6% projected to $68.7 billion by 2010. Companies such as Best Buy, U.S. Bank, Emerson Process Management, and Salo have all implemented the Gruve Solution in an effort to lower health care costs and improve the health and activity of their employees. Muve will also begin targeting the individual consumer in 2009 through both online and offline retail channels

| Status |
| Muve was awarded the top prize at the 2007 Minnesota Cup, a statewide contest rewarding innovation, for its movement measuring device, software, and online network assisting individuals in achieving their weight loss and wellness goals. The company plans to complete the development and testing of its Gruve Go device in the fourth quarter of 2008, which will include Muve's proprietary active feedback system. |
