Intuitive Surgical, Inc. manufactures and markets the da Vinci Surgical System, an advanced surgical system for use in performing what the Company calls intuitive surgery.
Products / Services
Intuitive Surgical's da Vinci Surgical System consists of a surgeon's console, a patient-side cart, a high-performance vision system and proprietary wrested instruments. The da Vinci Surgical System seamlessly translates the surgeon's natural hand movements on instrument controls at a console into corresponding micro-movements of instruments positioned inside the patient through small puncture incisions, or ports. The Company also manufactures a variety of EndoWrist instruments, each of which incorporates a wrist joint for natural dexterity, with tips customized for various surgical procedures.

Intuitive surgery is a procedure similar in scope to the previous two generations of surgery, open surgery and minimally invasive surgery.
