A revolutionary medical device improvement in the area of pathology. The Company is developing a fully integrated, automated, portable, micro fresh tissue sectioning, and 3D tissue reconstruction device that has primary applications in both surgical and clinical pathology examinations.

This system will enable consecutive and very thin sectioning of fresh unprocessed soft and/or hard tissue for histopathology and immunohistochemistry in less than 20 minutes.
Technology / Differentiation
  • Breakdown molecular structural bonds via an external, localized electromagnetic field that induces sub-micron cleavage of the subject tissue.
  • An electromagnetic field is directed by a uniquely designed blade in which all of the energy is focused at the edge of the blade.
  • Molecular bonds within cells of the tissue breakdown, creating a precise cut without damaging the adjacent tissue.

It is estimated that there are in excess of 5000 hospitals, universities and private pathology laboratories in the US that have an existing need for the NanoBlade system.

The initial focus has bee on cancer of the breast tissue analysis.

Strategy
Developmental Phases The next developmental phase will focus on 3D cellular resolution reconstruction of a large volume of images that will correlate to MRI or CAT scan images but now will be presented at the cell level.

This product will replace the current and antiquated tissue analysis methods and equipment that are both slow and only accomplished in pathology lab, and have not been improved for decades.

Status
  • NanoBlade has completed the testing of the tissue sectioning theory, and has verified its validity.
  • A Beta unit has been created in collaboration with a laser company and substantial pre clinical testing has been completed.
  • There is need for further studies that will distribute sectioned fresh tissue to pathologists for independent evaluation.
