Description
Fisher-Wallace Laboratories, LLC has developed the Fisher-Wallace Cranial Stimulator, a portable battery powered pulse generator.
Products / Services
The company's noninvasive cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) device applies low levels of proprietary micro-current frequencies transcutaneously to the brain.
Technology / Differentiation
There are several proposed mechanisms of action through which cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) is believed to operate. The effects are possibly mediated through a direct action in several brain areas, including the limbic system, the hypothalamus or the reticular activating system.

Domestic customers include managed care groups, hospital buying groups, physician groups, independent physicians, and medical supply houses. Abroad, Fisher Wallace will rely on distributors to penetrate the European, Middle Eastern, African, Central and South American and Japanese markets.
Strategy
Fisher Wallace Laboratories has been producing their products since the first quarter of 2007 and is currently seeking distribution relationships and strategic partnership relationships worldwide
Funding
The company is privately funded by the principals, with no further investments required this year. The company has been cashflow positive since 3Q 2007.

The Cranial Stimulator device has successfully sold to physicians for $650 wholesale, and the devices are then resold for a MSRP of $895. Some physicians charge as much as $1500. Fisher Wallace has been distributing their products worldwide since the second quarter of 2007 and is currently seeking distribution relationships and strategic partnerships. Fisher Wallace has received FDA 510K clearance for the device (1992). It is available in the U.S. by prescription only. CES devices are sold over the counter in Europe and other parts of the world. Fisher Wallace has funded a major bipolar study at Columbia University in the Division of Psychiatry, Brain Studies Institute. They are working with Dr. Sarah Lisanby and Dr. Janet Mindes on a study which they hope will provide further clinical evidence about the positive effects of their device in treating bipolar patients.
