Revenue / Funding
Munich, December 17, 2007. In its first round of financing, Swiss-based Sensimed AG, a manufacturer of medical devices in the field of ophthalmology, is receiving CHF8 million (around 4.8 million) from lead investor Wellington Partners as well as co-lead investor Vinci Capital through its funds Renaissance PME and MonaLisa/Swisscom joined by Blue Ocean Ventures.
Status
Sensimed's patented and CE Mark approved technology is currently undergoing clinical trials; U.S. commercialization is expected in the third quarter of 2009. The company seeks approximately $10 million in Series B financing to expand clinical investigations and commercialization, as well as fund regulatory processes in Japan.
