An allergist/immunologist is the best-qualified medical profession to prevent, diagnose and treat allergic disease.An allergist/immunologist is a physician certified in internal medicine or pediatrics who has completed an additional two years of allergy/immunology training in an accredited program.Board-certified allergist/immunologists obtain certification through the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
