The American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA) was founded in 1941, and is one of the oldest and most experienced organizations in dealing with issues relating to allergic disorders. As a professional association, the AAOA represents over 2000 Board certified otolaryngologists and other health care providers who devote part of their practice to the diagnosis and treatment of allergic and other related disorders. As otolaryngologists, members have a unique expertise in the medical and surgical treatment of sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, and related disorders.
To assist member physicians and allied health professionals to maintain and enhance their knowledge and techniques in otolaryngic allergy resulting in the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective allergy diagnosis and treatment for the benefit of their patients.
To promote the highest quality allergy care through member and public education, establishment of professional standards, and the dissemination of scientific information.
To accomplish understanding and recognition of the specialty of otolaryngic allergy by the medical profession, medical insurers, legislative and regulatory bodies, and the public at large.
To assist members in the practice of otolaryngic allergy by providing the vehicles to enhance their practice development, educational opportunities, and to resolve socioeconomic issues.
To promote fellowship, accreditation, research, and high ethical standards toward the enhancement of the quality of human life.
To promote, educate, and support Allied Health
To have the organizational structure, its officers, and its committees continually evolve the necessary actions to promote our membership for the purpose of keeping the organization in the forefront of the changing face of medicine. |
