| Description |
|
Intellect Neurosciences Inc. is developing a new breed of innovative “disease-modifying” therapeutic drugs designed to slow, arrest, and ultimately prevent serious neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease. The Company focuses primarily on proteinopathies, with its pipeline including small neuroprotective molecules and neopitope-based immunotherapy approaches, antibody drug conjugates, and vaccines that target abnormal tau proteins and beta amyloid (A-beta), the cell toxin responsible for Alzheimer’s disease. ANTISENILIN® is Intellect’s Alzheimer A-beta monoclonal antibody platform technology, which provides a method by which to promote the clearance of A-beta toxin away from sites of damage in the brain using highly specific monoclonal antibodies. RECALL-VAX is the Company’s proprietary chimeric peptide vaccine platform for Alzheimer’s and other tauopathies; it has the potential to stimulate the patient’s immune system to produce antibodies that clear A-beta. This later-stage biotechnology company has also applied for a patent for its antibody drug conjugate platform CONJUMAB-A, which possesses potential applications for a broad spectrum of proteinopathies disorders including Alzheimer’s disease, Early-Onset Familial Alzheimer’s disease, cerebral angiopathy, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and traumatic brain injury. |

| Technology / Differentiation |
Contrary to the five drugs currently approved by the FDA for the treatment of Alzheimer's, which treat only symptoms by targeting neurotransmitter deficits that occur relatively late in the disease process and do nothing significant to prevent disease progression, Intellect Neurosciences proprietary ANTISENILIN? therapeutic antibody technology, invented by its CEO, Dr. Daniel Chain, targets biological abnormalities early in the disease process, specifically the sequence of events that contribute to the toxicity caused by amyloid beta protein, which ultimately leads to learning and memory deficits in Alzheimer's patients.
ANTISENILIN? uses highly-specific therapeutic monoclonal antibodies to prevent the accumulation of soluble amyloid beta protein the main source of toxicity in the brains of Alzheimers patients, without impacting normal activities. By specifically targeting amyloid beta, Chains ANTISENILIN? technology aims to stop the disease in its earliest stages.
Examples of monoclonal antibodies exhibiting this property are PF-04360365/RN1219 and Bapineuzumab, which are in Alzheimer's Phase II and Phase III clinical trials, respectively. If successful in Phase III trials for Alzheimer's disease, the final stage before the FDA considers approving drugs for sale, Bapineuzumab could be approved for sale as the first disease-modifying drug for Alzheimer's disease, with the potential to slow down or arrest disease progression.Leading independent analysts have concluded that Bapineuzumab has blockbuster potential that may reach several billion dollars in annual worldwide sales. |

| Market / Customers |
Today, Alzheimer's remains the largest unmet medical need in neurology, with the disease expected to afflict 100 million by 2050. More than 25 million people are afflicted with Alzheimer's disease, with the associated estimated cost of care exceeding $200 billion annually. The anticipated royalty revenues for Intellect Neurosciences from drugs now in advanced clinical trials will support an expansion of Intellect Neurosciences research and development activities, thus allowing the Company to commercialize its own products under development.

| Status |
| Major global pharmaceutical companies have drug products in Phase I, Phase II and Phase III clinical trial stages based on the ANTISENILIN? technology, which is being licensed from Intellect under worldwide licensing agreements. In addition, the Company's own pipeline includes a clinical stage small molecule drug anticipated to enter Phase 2 trials, and two pre-clinical immunotherapy programs. As products progress through the pipeline, they are expected to generate multiple opportunities for collaborations with prominent global pharmaceutical companies, thereby generating for Intellect revenues from license fees, milestone payments and royalties.
The Company has suffcient funds to sustain operations for 12 months and commitments from its significant sharehodlers to provide additonal funds as needed. |
