Caleco Pharma Corp. is a unique healthcare products research and development company with divisions focused on prescription biopharmaceuticals and direct-to-consumer nutritional supplements. The common element is that Caleco Pharma identifies promising compounds and compound mixtures derived from natural sources. Specifically our expertise lies in the isolation and formulation of plant extracts, functional oils and probiotics - three areas of intense clinical and consumer interest and market growth. We focus our research, development and market penetration activities in clinical areas that (1) have high unmet clinical needs (2) exhibit tendencies toward the synergistic use of prescription and OTC remedies and (3) have worldwide consumer markets of over 100 million people. Our corporate strategy is to identify promising compounds from natural sources and pursue a dual-pathway model to commercialization that includes traditional biopharmaceutical development of synthetic and semi-synthetic derivatives while taking the natural compounds to the nutritional supplement marketplace as unique formulations and compound mixtures. We are a research focused company with plans to subject our over the counter products to rigorous clinical evaluation to maximize market claims as points of differentiation. This model allows us to amortize our plant extract research and formulation expertise across short, intermediate and long term opportunities, and positions Caleco Pharma to enter the market with products that can be used in isolation as well as part of the increasingly common prescription and supplement poly-pharmaceutical approaches to management of chronic conditions and maintenance of well-being. Products / Services
Our proprietary Lamiridosin-based plant extracts exhibit anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties making them ideal candidates for multiple formulations targeting chronic conditions. Collectively these products are known as our Lamiridosin Franchise and include: (1) Oral food supplement - Liver Health Formulation (2) Oral food supplement - Immune system enhancement (3) Dermatologic formulations for psoriasis, acne, dermatitis and other chronic skin conditions (4) Hair products || In-License products targeting large therapeutic market segments of Europe, North America, and South America include: i. Plant based extracts with anti-inflammatory effect 1. A unique plant extract formulation combining active ingredients with multiple anti-inflammatory pathway effects. 2. Inflammation is now recognized as a precursor condition to many chronic conditions including diabetes, vascular disease and cancer. ii. Plant based extracts with anti-hyperglycemic effects 1. Hyperglycemia affects more than 50 million people in North America alone 2. Caleco's HGF-0840116 is a unique three-part natural plant extract (proanthocyanidins, polyphenols and phyloridzins) that can be used in conjunction with medications or prior to the development of frank diabetes (pre-diabetes, early metabolic syndrome stages) iii. Plant based extracts with antioxidant effects 1. The antioxidant food supplement market is estimated at more than $20.8 Billion 2. The Caleco Pharma compound is a polyphenol antioxidant formulation - CPC-NB1019 3. Oxidation, as with inflammation, is now recognized as a precursor condition to many chronic maladies. The Caleco Pharma antioxidant formulation exhibits antioxidant effects through multiple mechanisms and will be targeted as a general vascular health and wellness promoting supplement. iv. Plant based extracts with anti-anxiety effects 1. Valerian root ingredient is used in the $600 million relaxation beverage market 2. CPNB-VAL40 is a highly concentrated valerian root extract formulation ideally suited as a water and lipid soluble additive targeting the functional relaxation beverage marketplace v. Functional Olive Oil 1. Olive oil with high polyphenol concentration that can be substituted for all cooking and food supplementation needs without sacrificing taste. vi. Probiotics for Mastitis 1. Proprietary probiotic strains isolated from breast milk and formulated as an oral supplement may be used to treat and prevent mastitis 2. Worldwide mastitis market over estimated > $4.0 billion 3. Technology / Differentiation
Our lead products are both based on a proprietary Liver Health formulation targeting the global hepatitis C prescription market - an $8 Billion market - and the liver health maintenance market via a nutritional supplement formulation. Over 200 million persons are infected with chronic hepatitis C and less than 5% are treated with prescription medications today. These compounds are at the core of our over-the-counter product development program. We are in active discussions with several manufacturers as well as distribution sources in Europe and North and South America. Our commercialization plans include retail distribution and internet sales of Caleco Pharma branded formulations as well as white-label sales of our unique formulations for use as active ingredients in existing functional food, beverage and supplement products.

The pharmaceutical markets in which we have early stage developmental compounds totals more than $10 billion dollars. The global nutrition supplement industry is a $228 billion colossus. We are in active discussions with several manufacturers as well as distribution sources in Europe and North and South America. Our commercialization plans include retail distribution and internet sales of Caleco branded products as well as white labeling products for others.
Status
The Company is pursuing funding to provide working capital to complete our in-license payment for 2010, complete our pre-clinical Liver Health Formulation derivative research program, initiate clinical trials with our food supplement derivative, Lamiridosin Dermatology line and plant extract anti-inflammatory and antioxidant formulations and ramp up all sales operations including those for our Functional Olive Oil and Relaxation Beverages. || Our plan is to continue pre-clinical work with these compounds, CPC.12115HP201 and CPC.12115HP202 in 2010 focusing on developing and testing semi-synthetic derivatives (of CPC.12115HP201) in preparation for entering phase 1 clinical trials in 2011 as well as further compound isolation work on a second isolate of the parent mixture (CPC.12115HP202). With the anti-viral activity profiles having been demonstrated in two bioassay systems, and considering the observed clinical effects of the parent herbal formulation, the Corporation believes continued preclinical development work is warranted. The company is concurrently engaged in pre-commercialization projects to bring the parent mixture (Liver Health Formulation) to worldwide markets as a food supplement for the promotion of liver health following additional clinical trials expected to start later this year. Derivatives of the parent herbal formulation's primary active ingredient Lamiridosin are being considered for oral supplement development targeted at immune system enhancement and as dermatologic products for use in common chronic dermatologic conditions. Caleco Pharma has in-licensed five compounds as part of our alliance with NATAC Biotech, S.A. These products target the exploding worldwide market for natural active ingredients that address large-unmet health and wellness needs such as metabolic dysfunction, pre-diabetes, pre-hypertension and cardiovascular health and are increasingly sought after as food supplements prior to the use of prescription medications or in combination with traditional pharmacologic approaches.
