| Market / Customers |
Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS) Market -over 30 million patients diagnosed with CRS in the U.S. -at least 30 million courses of antibiotic therapies are prescribed each year for CRS, and rhinosinusitis accounts for 21% of all adult antibiotic prescriptions. -over 500,000 CRS patients, whose symptoms were not resolved by antibiotic and steroid therapy, undergo Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS). -recurrent CRS can occur in post-FESS patients as often as 30% of the time, resulting in the need for a second surgical intervention. -total direct U.S. health care expenditures due to CRS exceeded $8 billion in 2008, establishing rhinosinusitis as one of the most expensive disorders experienced by the US population.
