| Description |
|
Saluda Medical is a private company spun out of NICTA and is developing the next generation of implantable neuro-modulation systems based on technology licensed from NICTA for the treatment of chronic neuropathic pain.
The devices being developed are capable of much finer control of both place and level of stimulation and implement an entirely new therapeutic paradigm in a very much smaller and less invasive implantable device.
These small, sophisticated, inexpensive implantable therapies address chronic pain and neurological disorders such as Parkinson Disease and epilepsy.
Their technology features the unique ability to capture the neural response and adapt stimulation to the response.
NICTA (National ICT Australia) is Australia’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Centre of Excellence. NICTA's key business areas include biomedical and life sciences. They are an independent company in the business of research, commercialisation and research training.
