Description
NeuroWave is a medical device manufacturer (ISO & FDA compliant) of innovative non-invasive brain monitors for clinical applications in Anesthesia, Critical Care, Neurology & Emergency Medicine.
Products / Services
NeuroSENSE® Monitor - the next generation bilateral brain monitor that enables clinicians to dose anesthesia and sedation in the OR/ICU in a safe and accurate manner. NeuroSENSE is currently being launched and sold in Europe. A pilot distribution agreement is in place with a global medical device leader, CareFusion.

EasyPrep™ electrodes - proprietary disposable EEG electrodes, which are designed specifically for NeuroWave's brain monitoring technologies. The EasyPrep electrodes ensure acquisition of high-fidelity EEG signals, along with facilitating rapid and easy use even by nonspecialists.

Technology / Differentiation
NeuroSENSE directly measures the effect of anesthesia & sedation on the brain to help clinicians avoid both under- and over-dosing related to adverse outcomes, based on proprietary parameters of brain activity acquired via a non-invasive disposable sensor.

NeuroWave Systems has solved the technical issues that competition has not adequately addressed. Our unique solution fulfills KOLs' expectations:
1) Immediate feedback for the clinician and instantaneous tracking of the patient's brain state and corresponding specific depth of anesthesia or sedation to avoid both under- and over-dosing.
2) Simultaneous and reliable monitoring of both brain sides results in safer brain monitoring due to redundancy and the ability to detect neurologic events.
3) Our technology, unlike competitors, is transparent and biologically explicable.
4) The NeuroSENSE has excellent profit potential with the proprietary EasyPrep disposable being very cost effective, which promotes use of the monitor even in lower risk patients.

Market / Customers
Revenues are generated through equipment and disposable sensor sales. Primary Market consists of 400,000 ORs worldwide where each year 242 million patients receive anesthesia for surgery. Secondary Market consists of 433,000 ICU beds worldwide, with estimated 115 million patient ICU days spent each year.

Total market opportunity for Anesthesia & Sedation Monitoring is estimated to $3 billion worldwide. Competition is limited to one company having the bulk of the current market share and having significant performance limitations.

Competitors / Substitutes / Alternatives
BIS monitor by Aspect Medical Systems (acquired by Covidien in 2008) is the only major competitor in the OR with 90+% current market share. Despite large installed base of monitors in OR sites in US & EU and after 15+ years on the market, BIS monitor is only used in 9% of all procedures eligible for monitoring. BIS has not penetrated the ICU market segment in any significant way.

Significant limitations of the BIS technology:
1) Significant delay results in uncertainty & delayed action by the clinician
2) Poor agreement between the two brain sides during bilateral monitoring
3) Unreliable for ICU sedation monitoring
4) Non-transparent, 'black-box' technology, biologically non-explicable
5) Expensive disposables

Funding
NeuroWave is now commencing 1st institutional financing (Series A) round. Business partners capable of equity investments (total of $3M - $5M) are being sought to finance aggressive sales & marketing expansion in this potential $3 billion market worldwide.

The capital raised will be used to finance the efforts for increasing market share, expanding into new territories, and building sales & marketing infrastructure to support aggressive growth.
