| Description |
|
Cerbomed develops and provides innovative solutions for smart neuro therapies, with a particular focus on patients suffering from drug-resistant epilepsy, migraines or other difficult-to-treat neurological disorders. |
 |
| Products / Services |
| NEMOS® is intended for patients suffering from various difficult to treat neurological and psychiatric diseases. The current lead indication for t-VNS® (transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation) is drug-resistant epilepsy and migraine.
NEMOS® consists of a stimulation unit and an electrode that the patient wears like a stereo earphone. The stimulation unit sends electrical pulses through the electrode, thereby stimulating the auricular branch of the vagus nerve transcutaneously (non-invasively). The therapy is patient-controlled.
Compared with conventional therapies, NEMOS® offers unique advantages to healthcare professionals and patients suffering from drug-resistant epilepsy.
NEMOS® obtained CE-mark for the treatment of epilepsy and depression.

| Technology / Differentiation |
| Transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation (t-VNS®) uses the fact that the auricular branch of the vagus nerve is located directly below the skin in areas of the outer ear. These nerve fibres can be stimulated through the skin (transcutaneously) with electrical impulses.
Cerbomed has developed and patented a specific ear electrode for non-invasive, transcutaneous stimulation of the vagus nerve. This electrode allows targeted stimulation of the auricular branch of the vagus nerve. The electrical impulses are transported to the CNS via relay nuclei in the nucleus of the solitary tract or the reticular formation. |
