| Description |
|
It is a global specialty pharmaceutical and medical device company that discovers, develops, and markets innovative technologies and medical products primarily for local diseases or for complications associated with medical device implants, surgical interventions and acute injury. They are listed on both the TSX and NASDAQ stock exchanges (TSX: ANP, NASDAQ: ANPI). They look for compounds that address the underlying biological causes of conditions that can occur concurrently with medical device implantation, surgery or acute trauma. |

|
 |
| Technology / Differentiation |
| It is a novel technology designed to prevent air leaks in patients having lung biopsies by plugging the biopsy track with an expanding hydrogel plug. On contact with moist tissue, the hydrogel plug absorbs fluids and expands to fill the void created by the biopsy needle puncture. The seal is airtight and the plug is absorbed into the body after healing of the puncture site has occurred. |

| Market / Customers |
Following the acquisition of American Medical Instruments Holdings, Inc. in 2006, Angiotech expanded beyond its strong R&D capabilities to include the manufacturing and marketing of a wide range of single use, specialty medical devices.
Today, in addition to its manufacturing capabilities, Angiotech has created specialized sales and marketing teams in North America, Europe, South America and Asia. Angiotech's sales and marketing teams are organized by their product groupings and focus on three key markets: Interventional, Surgical and Specialty/OEM.
Angiotech's Business Units:
* Angiotech Interventional
* Angiotech Surgical (including Wound Closure)
* Angiotech Specialty OEM
* Angiotech Specialties (including Ophthalmology, Dental, Microsurgery and Private Label)
Angiotech is working to accelerate growth of its existing business through expansion of its direct sales force and creation of a global distribution network. At the same time, Angiotech anticipates growth through the development and launch of exciting next-generation products, such as Quill' SRS, HemoStream' and SharpGuard'.
Angiotech is also re-positioning its OEM and private label business for continued growth by offering a comprehensive line of private label, finished medical devices and medical device components for third-party medical device manufacturers.
