| Description |
|
Guilford Pharmaceuticals is a fully integrated pharmaceutical company engaged in the research, development and commercialization of products targeting the neurology and hospital markets. |
 |
| Products / Services |
The company currently has two advanced clinical development programs, including GPI 1485, for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and post-prostatectomy erectile dysfunction, and a novel sedative/hypnotic. AQUAVAN Injection. Both AQUAVAN Injection and GPI 1485 are currently in Phase II clinical trials.
GLIADEL Wafer, Guilford's commercial product for brain cancer, is implanted at the time of surgery and delivers chemotherapy directly to the tumor site, minimizing drug exposure to other areas of the body. In February 2003, GLIADEL Wafer received expanded labeling approval from the FDA for use in patients newly diagnosed with malignant glioma in addition to patients with recurrent glioblastoma multiforme.
