Recent Results
In 2003, the company will continue to focus on clinical development of its two lead products, DX-88 and DX-890, while building its pipeline of potential client candidates in the areas of oncology and inflammation. These efforts, in combination with an increased emphasis on antibody-based collaborations, are where they believe the greatest potential for increasing shareholder value exists.

Description
Dyax Corp. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of therapeutic products. They use patented phage display technology to identify a broad range of protein, peptide, and antibody compounds with potential to treat a variety of inflammatory diseases and cancers. Dyax holds the dominant U.S. patent position in phage display, a very powerful technology for numerous markets in addition to health care therapeutics (imaging and diagnostics, agriculture). Its core focus is on using phage display for drug discovery and development.
Products / Services
The company's first approved product, KALBITOR® (ecallantide), is a plasma kallikrein inhibitor indicated for the treatment of acute attacks of hereditary angioedema (HAE) in patients 16 years of age and older. KALBITOR, which was discovered and developed by Dyax, is the first subcutaneous treatment available in the U.S. for treating acute HAE attacks, regardless of anatomic location.

Ecallantide Franchise: Dyax's lead drug candidate is ecallantide, a potent and selective plasma kallikrein inhibitor?a key mediator of inflammation. Ecallantide's potential is being investigated in other angioedema indications (e.g., ACE inhibitor-induced). Ecallantide is also being investigated by Dyax's partner, Fovea/sanofi aventis, for treating retinal vein occlusion induced macular edema.
Technology / Differentiation
Dyax leverages its technology broadly through licenses and collaborations in therapeutics and in non-core areas of affinity separations, diagnostics and imaging, and research reagents.
