Auspex's proprietary water-soluble analogs of Propofol circumvent the disadvantages associated with DIPRIVAN. These prodrugs are crystalline white powders that can be directly dissolved in water and are stable at ambient temperature for extended periods of time. Once a solution of the prodrug is injected into a patient, the molecules rapidly decompose in the plasma and release Propofol that is in every aspect identical to the Propofol contained in DIPRIVAN.
