| Conforma Therapeutics was founded to pioneer a unique approach to the design and development of drugs for the treatment of cancer. This novel technology induces tumor cells to degrade the proteins that promote cancer growth. Multiple biochemical pathways exist in cells to control their proliferation and survival. The proteins that receive molecular growth signals from the environment and transmit them to the cell nucleus are called signal transduction proteins. In tumors these signaling proteins are deregulated resulting in uncontrolled cell growth and survival. Conforma's drugs are designed to eliminate these deregulated signal transduction molecules from the tumor cell leading to death of the tumor. |
