| Description |
Aerogen is an emerging specialty pharmaceutical company that provides inhaled drug products to advance the treatment of respiratory disorders.
The company is focused on the efficient and convenient delivery of aerosolized drugs to the lungs, and through the lungs to the bloodstream. |
| Products / Services |
The Aeroneb? Micropump Nebulizer product line (Aeroneb? Solo, Aeroneb? Pro and Aeroneb? Go) was created for pulmonary drug delivery to both acute care and home care patients.
| Technology / Differentiation |
| Without using propellants, Aerogen's aerosol generator can produce aerosols tailored for respiratory or systemic therapy, and efficiently delivers small molecules, peptides and proteins, in solution or suspension. |
| Status |
| Aerogen introduced its first commercial product, the Aeroneb Portable Nebulizer System, in June 2001 for the treatment of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and cystic fibrosis (CF). Aerogen's second commercial nebulizer product, the Aeroneb Professional Nebulizer System (in development), is designed to improve the administration of respiratory therapy in hospitals to patients on ventilators, in emergency rooms or on hospital floors. Both nebulizer products are designed to deliver commercially available medications that have been cleared for use with general-purpose nebulizers. |
