| Description |
Curidium serves as a personalized medicine company identifying targeted medicines and companion diagnostics to treat individual patients in a more effective manner. Particularly, Curidium focuses on human multi-factorial diseases of the Central Nervous System (CNS) that are of a psychiatric nature, such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. |
| Products / Services |
Curidium's Homomatrix is a proprietary unique technology that identifies distinct patient subgroups and leads to the development of diagnostic tools to separate subgroups. In this way each group can be addressed with particular candidate drugs, thereby enabling effective subgroup specific drug treatments. Ciridium's PsychINDx is a blood diagnostic test that classifies patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder into different subgroups. Categorized patients are then treated according to the different underlying causes of the disease.
| Technology / Differentiation |
| Curidium's technology utilizes a sophisticated proprietary data analysis system that examines large amounts of human biological input, including gene expression data. Particularly, microarray gene expression data is used to identify underlying disease mechanisms in each individual, thereby allowing segregation of patients into particular disease related sub-groups. This information is used in conjunction with proprietary pattern recognition tools, mathematical algorithms, and customized statistical methods to develop a group specific therapeutic plan of action. |
| Market / Customers |
Over $50 billion per year is devoted to biopharmaceutical research, a large proportion of which is spent on drugs that fail to ever reach the market. Often these drugs fail during the clinical trials as they may treat only a part of the patient population leading to clinical trials missing their statistical endpoints of the studies. Curidium addresses this market, providing personalized medicine that identifies the patient populations that best respond to a given drug, and can therefore provide right individuals for drug therapy testing eliminating the potentially non-responsive populations.
