Description
Escalon Medical Corp. is comprised of several subsidiaries: Sonomed, Escalon Vascular Access, Drew Scientific, Escalon Digital Solutions (formerly EMI), and Trek. The combined companies are develop, market, and distribute ophthalmic diagnostic, surgical and pharmaceutical products, vascular access devices, as well as instrumentation and consumables for the diagnosis and monitoring of medical disorders in human and veterinary hematology and blood chemistry.
Products / Services
Sonomed develops ultrasound systems for diagnostic applications in ophthalmology, including the recently released VuMax-II. Sonomed also develops the PacScan, a portable, digital, A-scan and/or pachymeter, and the EZScan, a compact system which comes as either a stand alone B-scan or as an A/B-scan combination system. Esclalon Vascular Access' PDAccess uses Ultrasound Doppler technology to access intended vessels quickly and accurately. This device is used in cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology labs, anesthesia and critical care settings. Drew Scientific manufactures and markets instruments and associated consumables for blood analysis, diagnosis and monitoring of human and veterinary diseases. The product line includes Trilogy, a recently released human blood, chemistry analyzer that measures the concentration of various blood components including, cholesterol, calcium and iron. Escalon Digital Solutions markets digital imaging systems for photographing the retina, a necessary step in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases and other ophthalmic pathologies. The company offers a full line of products incorporating up to 6 mega pixel full-frame sensors to maximize sensitivity providing color imaging and fluoroscein angiography. Trek manufactures ophthalmic surgical products primarily for use in vitreoretinal surgery. The principal product lines include implantable intraocular gases, viscous fluid transfer systems, and fiber optic illuminated instruments, used in pars plana vitrectomy surgery for the treatment of vitreous and retinal disorders, including retinal detachment.
