Description
Acclarent develops and markets a novel system for treating sinus disease. Its singular focus is improving patient care in all areas of otolaryngology by developing and producing medical devices solely for Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialists and their patients. Acclarent is demonstrating this by investing in innovative technologies, clinical studies, and physician training.
Products / Services
Acclarent has developed the Balloon Sinuplasty (tm) system a novel, endoscopic, catheter-based technology for sinusitis patients. This system is a family of proprietary products cleared by the FDA and currently being used in endoscopic surgical procedures throughout the U.S. and Australia.
Technology / Differentiation
Balloon Sinuplasty (tm) technology works by gently restructuring the bones lining the sinus passageways, widening the opening and allowing for drainage and restoration of normal function. Unlike traditional approaches, this technology does not require the removal of bone and tissue, thus reducing the bleeding and pain commonly associated with sinus surgery.
Market / Customers
Sinusitis affects 37 million people each year, making it one of the most common health problems in the U.S.
