Paracor has developed a novel device that is placed around the heart in a minimally invasive manner. The delivery process is typically performed with a mini thoracotomy or sternal sparing approach, during an off-pump or beating heart procedure, in about an hour. The device is currently in early human trials.

| The Paracor Device is an elastic nitinol mesh that is designed to mechanically reinforce the walls of the heart to slow or stop the enlargement process, ultimately decreasing the debilitating symptoms of HF. Once the dilation process, or enlargement of the heart, is brought under control, the heart is allowed to work more efficiently. |
