| Description |
|
Since its founding, OptiMedica has been developing a reproducible, noninvasive technique to replace the
inconsistent manual steps in cataract surgery with femtosecond laser technology. The system has been designed to
deliver new levels of precision, control, performance, and efficacy to cataract surgeons and their patients.
OptiMedica has completed clinical trials of its Catalys(TM) Precision Laser System, with very promising results
reported across these measures. While the Catalys(TM) Precision Laser System is not currently for sale in the United
States, OptiMedica expects to launch the system in U.S. and international markets in 2011. |

| Products / Services |
The Catalys(TM) Precision Laser System has been developed to deliver unparalleled precision during cataract surgery.
The goal of the system is to improve the cataract procedure by replacing its least predictable and most technically
demanding steps.
The Catalys(TM) procedure consists of four steps: Plan, Engage, Visualize & Customize, Treat.
OptiMedica has designed features that optimize the precision, safety and control of all four steps of the procedure.

| Technology / Differentiation |
| Femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery offers a reproducible, noninvasive technique to replace the least
predictable and most technically demanding steps of conventional cataract procedures.
Throughout the development of Catalys(TM), OptiMedica has made numerous technology choices aimed at delivering
unparalleled precision. Two of the most critical components are the patient docking interface and the imageguidance
system. The Liquid Optics(TM) Interface is designed to provide a stable, yet comfortable dock and a clear
optical path for the OCT and laser. In addition, Catalys(TM) is equipped with Integral Guidance(TM), an image-guidance
system which identifies ocular surfaces, establishes safety zones allowing the physician to select and customize the
treatment, ensuring that the femtosecond laser pulses are delivered precisely to the intended location. |
