| Description |
|
25 million patients annually could benefit from a new beat-to-beat, noninvasive advanced hemodynamic monitoring device.
During surgery, physicians must maintain sufficient oxygen delivery and tissue perfusion in their patients in order to prevent debilitating and deadly hypoxia. But in the U.S., only 16% of patients are monitored ‘hemodynamically’ for cardiac output during surgery, because the available medical equipment is invasive, costly, intermittent, or unreliable.
Now, there’s Nexfin and ccNexfin. For the first time, physicians have products that will support them to prevent unnecessary complications for their patients and reduce the length of their hospital stay. And, Nexfin and ccNexfin can be applied by a nurse, minimizing healthcare costs.
BMEYE is a technology-based, market-driven company that focuses on finger arterial pressure and cardiac output technologies. BMEYE’s first product, the Nexfin, is a non-invasive blood pressure and cardiac output monitor that offers precise, real-time profiles of data within a minute of application. The Nexfin obtained CE and FDA clearance in 2007, and the Company is building a network of strong distributors with its launch, leading toward physicians’ usage of the Nexfin in patient diagnosis. Benefits of the Nexfin include diagnostic precision, ease of use, and safety and convenience for patients. BMEYE brings over 30 years of research and development experience to customers, and works with medical centers and universities all over the globe in joint research projects. This later-stage medical device company’s technologies are also used in groundbreaking products for space agencies and experimental market launches. |

| Products / Services |
Nexfin (Cardiology market) and ccNexfin (Anesthesia, Critical Care markets) are state-of-the-art hemodynamic monitors that provide continuous, beat-to-beat, real-time information on such critical vital signs as Cardiac Output and Blood Pressure (Nexfin), as well as Fluid Responsiveness and Oxygen Saturation (ccNexfin, including Nexfin parameters). These integrated functional hemodynamic monitoring data empower clinicians to predict and proactively address the early signs of hemodynamic instability during surgery, emergency care and for cardiology diagnostics. Now, physicians in the U.S. and Europe have a noninvasive device (using only a finger cuff) to monitor hemodynamic instability for moderate- and high-risk surgery patients.
BMEYE brings over 30 years of research and development experience to its customers, focusing on finger arterial pressure and cardiac output technologies. These technologies have been validated extensively and are used in groundbreaking products for the space agencies and experimental market launches. The products are considered as thoroughly evaluated, and have been documented in over 800 publications.

New Standard of Care? for Hemodynamic Monitoring: Non-Invasive Nexfin™ Platform
“Nexfin has the potential to transform and enhance the practice of medicine during a wide variety of surgical procedures,” says Prof. Azriel Perel President, Israel Society of Anesthesiologists; and Chairman, Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, Sheba Medical Center, Tel Aviv University
Hemodynamic monitoring has traditionally relied upon invasive, costly, intermittent, or unreliable methods to assist clinicians in maintaining adequate oxygen delivery, tissue perfusion, and to prevent hypoxia and its irreversible damage. However the, Nexfin™ platform offers a totally noninvasive method of providing some of the most advanced hemodynamic monitoring capabilities today. |

The current standard of care for advanced hemodynamic monitoring involves two invasive procedures: 1) implanting an invasive pulmonary artery catheter and then 2) puncturing the patient with an intra-arterial catheter, or ‘A-Line’. The current standard of hemodynamic monitoring is so invasive that clinicians use it to monitor just 16% of surgery patients.
Parameters routinely monitored today during surgery — heart rate and blood pressure — are neither sensitive nor specific enough for timely identification of hemodynamic deterioration. Only BMEYE’s products can monitor noninvasively and continuously.
And, BMEYE’s products save hospitals money: There is overwhelming evidence that hemodynamic monitoring of moderate- to high-risk patients reduces morbidity and reduces length of hospital stay. In addition, Nexfin and ccNexfin can be applied by a nurse, which reduces the cost of monitoring — while an invasive A-Line must be inserted by a physician, which increases the cost of monitoring.
