CleveMed Develops Physiological Monitoring System To Measure Disease Progression

A difficult to asses and important clinical manifestation of the progression of neuromuscular-degenerative disorders, such as Parkinson’s, is the extent which the patient has lost control of movement. To this end, CleveMed has developed an innovative and comprehensive physiologic monitoring system that is able to provide enhanced measurement of symptomatic movement and disease progression in patients.

CleveMed is a medical devices company that has developed various apparatuses to monitor different body functions. The company’s biocapture platform enables movement of patients and simultaneous recording of an array of different physiological information including respiration, electro-cardiac activity, and electro-muscular activity. The company’s Kinesia platform is a movement recording system that is used in Parkinson’s disease, and other motion diseases such as essential tremor, to measure the amount of symptomatic movement. The compact unit is worn on the finger and transmits movement data to a recording system that analyzes the disease progression.
