Company has developed a minimally invasive spine stabilization system specifically designed to address the lower back pain seen in lumbar spinal diseases, including facet osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis. The spinal stabilization, or facet fixation market is expected to reach $385 million by 2012. After receiving positive results from early clinical trials, the company will begin a clinical study to determine rates of spinal stabilization and fusion (with the company’s platform alone and in conjunction with other devices) in the fourth quarter of 2009.
